or drinking it may absorb faster. Never lie down for a half
hour after taking this drug and do not chew or suck on the tablets
as they may cause sores in your mouth. Try to take calcium or
vitamin D supplements if you do not have enough in your diet.
Always avoid alcohol and smoking. Lifting weights will assist
in strengthening the bones. If you happen to miss a dose and
and if you are taking this drug daily do not take an extra dose,
instead mise the dose you forgot and carry on your regular schedule
in the morning. If you are taking this drug one time a week
and you happen to miss a dosage, take it in the morning of the
following day and continue on that day once a week. Never take
2 tablets in one day and always store this medicine at room
temperature in a tightly closed container away from children.

As always the side effects with alendronate Sodium cannot be
anticipated. If there are any side effect that develop call
your physician as soon as you can and they will tell you if
it is ok to continue using this drug.
The most common side effects of Alendronate are:
Muscle pain, diarrhea, nausea, bone and joint pain and abdominal
pain, constipation
Some less common alendronate side effects can include:
Headache, vimiting, gas, ulcers, swallowing difficulty, acid
backup and abdominal distention.
Rare Alendronate side effects can include:
Swollen face and throad, eye pain, rash, mouth sores, hives,
esophageal blockage and changes in taste.
Why should the drug Alendronate not be prescribed?
You should never take this drug if you have low calcium in
your blood, or you notice an allergic reaction.

This drug is not for nursing mothers and has not been tested
in women during breastfeeding or that are pregnant. If you are
pregnant or want to become pregnant tell your physician immediately.
The appearance of Alendronate Sodium in breast milk has not
been studied.

As always any medication taken without following the proper
dosage may cause an overdosage. If you expect an overdosage
