What is BNP Opth used for
B.N.P. is an ophthalmic antibiotic containing bacitracin, neomycin sulfate and polymyxin B sulfate. It is used for superficial bacterial infections of the eyelid and conjunctiva when due to organisms susceptible to the antibiotics contained in the ointment.

B.N.P. Ophthalmic is a prescription medication available as an eye ointment.

How BNP Opth should be used
B.N.P. Ophthalmic ointment is FDA approved for use in dogs and cats. The usual dose is to apply a thin film over the cornea 3 or 4 times a day.

What are the BNP Opth side effects
Side effects of B.N.P. ophthalmic ointment may include itching, burning, or inflammation in animals sensitive to this product.

What special BNP Opth precautions are there
B.N.P. ophthalmic ointment should not be used in animals allergic to it. Do not allow the applicator tip to become contaminated during the application of the ointment. If there is no response to the infection within 3 or 4 days, the animal should be re-evaluated. Prolonged use of this product may result in superinfections caused by nonsusceptible organisms such as fungi.

In the event of an BNP Opth overdose
Sensitivity to this ophthalmic ointment is rare, however, if reactions occur discontinue use of this preparation and contact your veterinarian or veterinary emergency room.

How should I store BNP Opth
Store this medication at room temperature, away from excess heat. Do not store in the bathroom. Throw away any medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Keep out of the reach of children and pets.
