FER- IN-SOL IRON DESCRIPTION

Fer- In-Sol Iron Supplements

Fer-In-Sol Infant Drops are for iron supplementation and the treatment of iron deficiency in infants. For use under the direction of a physician.Fer-In-Sol contains ferrous sulfate equivalent to elemental iron.

More than ever, it is now recognized that iron plays an important role in growth and development in the first years of your baby's life. If you have exclusively breastfed for the first six months of your baby's life, doctors will recommend adding a dietary source of iron, such as infant cereal or Fer-In-Sol, to your baby's diet after six months.

Fer-In-Sol drops is recommended for infants and children under 2 years of age. Fer-In-Sol syrup is recommended for children up to 12 years of age. Iron is a factor in the prevention of iron deficiency. Iron supplements should be used as directed by your family or baby's doctor.

Fer-In-Sol Ingredient
FERROUS SULFATE 75 MG / ML Healthy newborns generally don't need a multivitamin supplement as they get most of the vitamins and minerals they need through breast milk. However, if the mother is a vegetarian and breastfeeding, and isn't taking a supplement herself, her doctor may recommend giving her baby a multivitamin supplement complete with iron and B vitamins. Giving your baby the recommended daily dose of a general multivitamin, such as Tri-Vi-Sol, provides nutritional assurance. There's no substitute for a healthy and nutritious diet, but in many circumstances, doctors recommend supplementing babies with 3 specific vitamins and minerals: Vitamin D, Iron, and Fluoride. Be sure to talk to your baby's doctor before introducing a vitamin supplement to your baby.

If you have exclusively breastfed for the first six months of your baby's life, doctors will recommend adding a dietary source of iron, such as infant cereal or Fer-In-Sol®, to your baby's diet after six months. On the other hand, if you decide to wean to formula, the Canadian Paediatric Society recommends an iron-fortified commercial formula, such as Enfamil A+, to provide all the recommended nutrients an infant will need.
