Orthovisc® is injected using a simple procedure called viscsupplementation. The procedure is performed by an orthopaedic surgeon, rheumatologist, or other qualified health professional. The doctor prepares the patient's knee with a local anesthetic, then injects Orthovisc® directly into the knee joint where it combines with the synovial fluid. Orthovisc® acts only in the knee joints, so it will not interfere with any other medications the patient is taking.

ORTHOVISC DOSAGE:
If your doctor did not recommend any other treatment protocol;
2 mL weekly for 3 weeks has to be administered, in knee osteoarthritis. The same treatment protocol should be repeated after 4-6 months.
