How should you use Procter & Gamble Asacol?

8. Remain in this position, or with your feet up in the air (whichever is most comfortable) for at least 30 minutes to cause thorough distribution of the Asacol solution. Please retain the enema all night (8 hours) for best results. If possible, try sleeping on your stomach first as to continue letting the solution absorb.
How should you use Asacol or Canasa Suppositories?
1. Asacol Suppositories should be used twice a day for best results. The Canasa Suppositories can be used 2 or 3 times a day.
2. It is recommended that you handle the suppositories as little as possible, they are specifically designed to melt away at typical body temperature (32 degrees).
3. Extract one suppository from the given strip of suppositories in the package.
4. Hold the suppository upright, then carefully remove the wrapper.
5. Carefully use gentle pressure and insert the suppository (pointed end forward) completely into the rectum. For ease of use, a tiny bit of lubricating gel may be used on the tip of the suppository to assist the insertion.
6. The suppository should be retained for at least 1 to 3 hours or longer for best results (always consider the severity of your condition with these times). To take Pentasa or Asacol swallow the capsule or tablet whole. Never break, crush, or ever chew it before swallowing, as it is entric coated to be dissolved in your lower intestines. You may notice what looks like small empty beads or shells in your stool. These are simply just the dissolved tablets that are left after the medication has been absorbed into your body. What if I miss a dose?

How do I store Asacol?
