The mechanism of action of Tazorac Cream is not known. But it is believed that the active form of this drug which is Tazarotenic acid, binds to all the three members of the retinoic acid receptor. In psoriasis, it is thought that the application of topical Tazarotene inhibits the production of epidermal ornithine decarboxylase activity (ODC).
