Interceptor is a flavoured tab used as antiparasitic for dogs, puppies, cats and even humans in very rare cases. Streptomyces hygroscopicus aureolacrimosus produces Milbemycin Oxime (mil’-beh-my’-sin ox’-eem), which is the generic name of Interceptor. Its anthelmintic ingredient kills heartworms or Dirofilaria immitis, roundworms or Toxocara canis and Toxascaris leonina, hookworms or Ancylostoma caninum and even whipworms or Trichuris vulpis. This product has been approved by the US Federal Law and American Heartworm society.
Dosage and Indications:
Each formulated tablet dosage of Interceptor is artificially beef-flavoured and chewable; making it easy to administer. The prescribed amount varies depending on the weight of the pet animal as indicated on the colour-coded labels. The brown code contains 2.3mg and is given to 2-1o lbs dogs. The green code goes in 5.75mg that is given to 11-25 lbs dogs and 11.5mg and is given to 26-50 lbs dogs (yellow) while the white code contains 23mg for 51-100 lbs dogs.
